Our History

Glad Tidings College Mbiabong Etoi, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria, was founded in September 2001 with the aim of fostering academic excellence through a stimulating learning environment, delivering high-quality education that equips students for success in their future academic and professional pursuits.

Starting with an initial enrollment of 38 students and a staff of 5, the college rapidly received approval from the Ministry of Education under three months, thanks to the proprietor, Elder Edet Effiong's, diligent and tireless efforts. With divine blessings and financial support from external sources, the college experienced rapid growth in both academic and physical development. Key milestones include: approval for Junior Secondary Certificate Examination in 2003, upgrade to Senior Secondary School status in 2005, and accreditation for West African Senior School Certificate Examinations. In 2007, the college's first batch of 25 students sat for WAEC and NECO exams, achieving an impressive 85% success rate. What began as a small initiative has blossomed into a thriving educational institution.

Our college operates with strong foundation of effective management, efficient systems and a team of seasoned professionals.

At our school, we are committed to providing education that meets the evolving needs of our students.
